DSH Perfumes Piment et Chocolat EDP Perfume Review
How can a fumehead resist trying a spicy-chypre-gourmand? OK, this fumehead can’t resist those three words together. DSH Perfumes Piment et Chocolat is in Les Rouges Collection, a collection of luxury perfumes inspired by the passion, power and heat of red.
This perfume reminds me of Taza Mexicano Discs (one of my many addictions). Piment et Chocolat opens up as spicy. Isn’t that what you expected? It’s dry black pepper and a fruity red chili mixed with your favorite mulling spices over… Continue reading | 4 Comments

Penhaligon’s Elixir EDT Fragrance Video Review
Penhaligon’s Elixir is a spicy incense fragrance that I absolutely adore. It’s the type of fragrance that mellows me out, makes me feel chill. And being that life is stressful, this is a fragrance that gets a lot of wear from me. It makes me feel content.
Elixir really has a eucalyptus steam to it. It’s like a sauna, humid and herbal. But, it’s spicy. These spices aren’t baked or foody. This is a spice market filled with cinnamon and mace. There’s a… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Costume National Homme EDP Perfume Video Review
Like I said in my video review, Costume National Homme is a fragrance that gets me compliments. And I like that. This is a fragrance that I love to wear. It’s soft and comforting, very long-wearing and one of my go-to fragrances for when I want to smell good.

Costume National Homme opens as citrus and a cardamom. By definition, it should be zesty and energetic. It’s zesty but not so energetic. It manages to be mellow and perfectly blended. The fragrance is very dry and… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Bois 1920 Sushi Imperiale EDT Fragrance Review
Since 2005, I’ve ignored Bois 1920 Sushi Imperiale. I got all upset once I started reading reviews that said it wasn’t a gingery, green sushi-inspired perfume with cold, salty white rice. I’m so literal; I know! At the time, I lived in an area that didn’t carry Bois 1920. I sure wasn’t going to order a sample of this spicy, comfort scent. It wouldn’t of appealed to me at that time anyways. Well, times have changed and it’s almost 2011. It’s cold and rainy… Continue reading | 10 Comments

Smell Bent Holiday 2010 Elf-Fulfilling Prophecy EDT Perfume Review
First, I need to start off with Merry Christmas!
Smell Bent has launched their Holiday 2010 fragrance collection (and yes, I’m late on reviewing). Elf-Fulfilling Prophecy, in my opinion, is the bottled essence of dysfunctional family Christmases from the past, present, and even… the future. Upon first whiff, I knew if I was to ever present National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation in the glorious realm of Smell-o-vision, that I’d have to purchase gallons of Elf-Fulfilling Prophecy.
Elf-Fulfilling Prophecy, like Cousin… Continue reading | 8 Comments
