Sonoma Scent Studio Yin and Ylang EDP Perfume Review

Sonoma Scent Studio Yin and Ylang

Sonoma Scent Studio Yin and Ylang¹ is a perfume of contrasts. It focuses on bright notes like citrus, aldehydes and florals followed by darker notes like musk and woods. Now, I wouldn’t say that this is an innovative concept. Basically, this is the formula of top, middle and base notes. However, Yin and Ylang does stand out. It’s a showcase of the different angles of white florals. They can be bright, light and airy. They can also be dense, velvety and dark… Continue reading | 5 Comments

Aura Cosmic Candle Review

Aura Cosmic candle

I just used up an entire Aura Bubbly candle and was reminded of just how much I love this hand-poured candle line. And then I remembered that I still have an Aura candle in Cosmic, a delicious gourmand.

Cosmic smells like a rich, decadent, gourmet creamsicle. It’s a juicy winter orange with vanilla whipped cream. Aura managed to take the flavor of a familiar frozen treat and make it into a luxurious home fragrance. Cosmic doesn’t smell… Continue reading | 15 Comments

A Beautiful Life Crush’d EDP Perfume Review

ABL Crush'd Perfume

I really don’t think that one can go wrong when it comes to a combo of orange and vanilla. Orange creamsicle perfumes make me happy. A Beautiful Life (or ABL) Crush’d is one of these oh, so happy orange and vanilla blends. Bonus. I can’t read/see the name without thinking of Krush Groove. DOUBLE WHAMMY OF HAPPINESS.

Crush’d is a blood orange creamsicle and then it turns into blood orange toasted marshmallows. It’s juicy and creamy. And yes, it’s sweet. I find that… Continue reading | 2 Comments

Blooming Dream Drunken Flowers EDP Natural Perfume

Blooming Dream Drunken Flowers

Hey, even flowers want to have a good time! Blooming Dream shows us that flowers are loving, fun drunks and not the mean, start-a-fight drunks.

With a name like Drunken Flowers it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this smells boozy. It opens as a golden citrus cocktail. It reminds me of a boozy creamsicle (orange and vanilla) with spicy cardamom. The heart is a boozy, sweet floral – like orange blossoms and cognac. Yes, drunken flowers. Drunken Flowers dries down to a creamy sandalwood… Continue reading | 12 Comments

Smell Bent Sunshine EDP Perfume Review

Smell Bent Sunshine

When it comes to citrus, I’m picky. But, if one pairs citrus with vanilla, I’m going to be less picky. I smell vanilla and orange together and automatically have childhood nostalgia. I think of orange cream pops and I can’t be grumpy.

Smell Bent Sunshine is a more “grown-up” take on frozen treats but it’s still fun. It reminds me of orange creamsicles and sunshine. It’s a juicy orange and creamy, sweet vanilla. There is warmth from a warm, milky sandalwood. The dry down of Sunshine… Continue reading | 2 Comments
