Where did July go? I felt it went by really quickly.
Overall, it was a really chill month. It’s summer so a lot of people are vacationing. Throughout the month I was able to entertain folks from out of town. It was nice to catch up with old friends; we’re all spread out all over the place.

Mainstream Monday: Sniffing a Popular Perfume
Even though Guerlain hasn’t launched anything that has interested me in years, I still get excited when they have a launch. A lot of people do “Anti-Hauls” on Youtube. If you aren’t familiar with these, these are videos where people talk about what they aren’t buying. With so many launches, I love the premise of this. It gives us a reason to talk about what’s new without actually participating in this makeup economy of “BUT THIS LIMITED EDITION THING!”. Here’s my version, sans video. Amouroud Safran Rare is getting some buzz in the Perfume World and for a rightful reason: It smells good.
The opening of Safran Rare reminds me of if you had a really fancy perfume sample and spilled all in the bottom of your new leather bag. I went on a day vacation in upstate New York and spent $50 at a drugstore because they had all the stuff that is always sold out in NYC, like that new L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara and the chrome shadows.
