Opus Oils M’Eau Joe No.3 EDP Perfume Review
As a broad from Nashville, Tennessee, I’ve spent too many nights at smoky rockabilly venues that only served the Tennessee favorite, Jack Daniels. I haven’t stepped foot in such a thing in what feels like a million years.
Upon smelling Opus Oils M’Eau Joe No. 3 I was reminded of a few really great shows. Typically the acoustics were too loud and the venues weren’t well ventilated. Tons of smoke and all the bartender could mix up was Jack and Coke so don’t ask for anything else…M’Eau Joe No. 3 opens with sweet woods and beets. It’s earthy, rooty and sweet. There’s a honeyed pipe tobacco. The heart is sweet and woodsy with an addition of florals. The florals are noticeable but they aren’t delicate or feminine. They are “chocolate florals” with leather. The dry-down is smoky, sweet, boozy and woodsy. This sounds gross but it reminds me of what my hair smelled like after going to a venue. Back then I had this long fire engine red hair that I only washed once a week to preserve the vibrancy of the red. My hair often smelled strangely musky, sweet and smoky.
Notes listed include whiskey, saffron attar, rice paddy herb, white cognac, geosmin, pyralone, honey, rose, violet, chocolate, dark amber, vanilla, tobacco, musk, moss and woods. Launch date 2012. PERFUMER – Kedra Hart
Give M’Eau Joe No. 3 a try if you like sultry “dark” woodsy fragrances or if you are look for something masculine boozy. Or perfumes like Opus Oils Mother, Jean Paul Gaultier Kokorico, Nez a Nez Atelier d’Artiste, By Kilian Back to Black, and/or Frapin 1697. M’Eau Joe No. 3 is unisex but it does lean more masculine.
This perfume has above average projection and longevity.
This limited edition comes in a few sizes with the 1 oz spray retailing for $65 at Opus Oils.
Victoria’s Final EauPINION – A rockabilly club of smoky, sweet tobacco, booze, chocolate and woods. Complex and sexy. Who needs a brooding rockstar boyfriend when you have M’Eau Joe No. 3?
