Tura Satana Astro Zombies

RIP Tura Satana 1936-2011

Week of January 30th-February 6th

Not to be a total whiner, but this week sucked for many personal reasons: husband’s truck broke, Frink had surgery, there’s a squirrel in the attic, and I’ve had so many deadlines that left me biting my nails. It was just one of those rotten weeks. I hope the rest of February will be better.

I’m really behind this week reading my favorite beauty and fragrance blogs. But, here’s some highlights of the first week of February:

FRAGRANCE:

Ines at All I Am-A Redhead reviews a few Olympic Orchids perfumes. I’m excited about these because I just ordered and received my sample pack this week and I’ve been very happy with what I’ve sniffed so far.

Ashleigh at Pefume-Smellin’ Things talks about scent and memories. Which perfumes remind you of loved ones?

Pere de Pierre introduces a Canadian Swap Board!

Redolent of Spices talks about oud. It’s entertaining. Read it!

Dimitri at Sorcery of Scent interviews jeweler/perfumer Olivier Durbano.

BEAUTY:

Eyeliner On A Cat reviews a product that has kept my scaly, wintery hands from being so scaly!

G at Nouveau Cheap reviews a drugstore foundation that looks impressive.

OK, this isn’t beauty related but go over and check out Peace, Love, & Sparkles newest (and darn cute) family member!

Phyrra swatches a Wet n’ Wild Eyeshadow Palette that I bought this week. It’s beautiful! And a total deal!

Gaia at The Non-Blonde swatches a purple spring 2011 eyeshadow duo that I actually want. I thought I was safe from all of the purple/lilac spring releases!

Tura Satana pic from the worst b-film that I have ever seen in my life, Astro Zombies, a late 60′s catastrophe.

  2. I’m sorry you had such a bum week. I hope Frink is recovering nicely along wit your truck, attic and fingernails!

Thanks for including me in your blog roundup! Looks like I have some reading to do.

  3. I’m sorry to hear your week was so miserable – I do hope Frink is fine now.
Thank you for the link and hopefully this week surprises you with the happiness it brings.
