Where did July go? I felt it went by really quickly.
Overall, it was a really chill month. It’s summer so a lot of people are vacationing. Throughout the month I was able to entertain folks from out of town. It was nice to catch up with old friends; we’re all spread out all over the place.

A lot of people do “Anti-Hauls” on Youtube. If you aren’t familiar with these, these are videos where people talk about what they aren’t buying. With so many launches, I love the premise of this. It gives us a reason to talk about what’s new without actually participating in this makeup economy of “BUT THIS LIMITED EDITION THING!”. Here’s my version, sans video. Here’s my additional comments¹.
Here’s some things that have launched or will be launching soon that have been receiving hype in the Beauty World:
I went on a day vacation in upstate New York and spent $50 at a drugstore because they had all the stuff that is always sold out in NYC, like that new L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara and the chrome shadows. That Lash Paradise Mascara is amazing! It makes me look like I have lashes (and I pretty much don’t in real life). Recently Allure published an article in their July 2017 Diversity/”American Beauty” Issue, “The American Perfumers Modern Approach to Fragrance” by Liana Schaffner that briefly covers the rebellious spirit of American niche perfumery. I’m always delighted to see my interest introduced to a broader audience; however, there was something so curious about this article. Out of all the brands and perfumers interviewed¹, none were female. There was a total erasure of women in perfumery.
