I announced in the end of 2016 that I was putting myself on a “low-buy” in 2017. I have accumulated a lot of stuff that I should be using. The deal is that I actually like the things that I have but I get so distracted by shiny, new things. My goal in 2017 is to buy less and enjoy more. This means that I’m only going to buy things that I really want (no more impulse buys) and that I’m “shopping” my stash.

A friend of mine came in from Seattle to visit and we did the k-beauty tour of Manhattan and Queens. You better believe I bought some stuff. For me, I had some restraint. I bought some discontinued essences from Nature Republic. BesFren/MaskSheets had Leaders masks for a super deal (about $1 a piece) so I bought 20 sheets (2 boxes). The past few months have been so busy and I’ve had to prioritize. The first thing to get pushed down the list is this blog. This is why there wasn’t an October 2016 Favorites. In November, I was equally as busy but I’ve sort of navigated my responsibilities better. But, then I haven’t actually felt like blogging. The past few weeks (December), I have so that’s why there’s a sudden 2-for-1: Belated Favorites.
I went nuts buying clothes so I tried to restrict myself on the beauty purchases. I ran out of cleanser so I bought Glyderm Gentle Cleanser and Lalun Naturals Winter Rose Oil Cleanser. So far, I’m loving both. Being that it’s colder, I don’t air dry my hair as often because I feel like I’ll freeze to death. I bought Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil Thermal Setting Spritz. Here’s the damage I did in October. I bought like $40 of stuff at a Harlem hair supply store. I also bought too much Colourpop because I was on the hunt for the perfect terracotta lipstick. And I found it with Mama .But, I wish more than anything it wasn’t a liquid lip formula. Those are so drying and I’m over them. Why do they keep making all the cool colors in these inferior formulas?!
