Badger Natural Lip Tint & Shimmer Review

Badger Lip Tint and Shimmer Review

Weekly Cheap Secret:

Badger Lip Tint & Shimmer is a natural lip product with lots of organic fair trade cocoa butter. Each tube features two lip colors. All of the shades have a natural Opal Shimmer Lip Balm. The other end of the tube has a natural lip tint. I love tinted lip balms because they are so easy. I also have dry lips that require lots of TLC. I am a major fan of Badger Lavender & Sweet Orange Lip Balm. I am now a fan of Badger Lip Tint & Shimmer. Badger Lip Tint & Shimmer comes in 4 shades:

Badger Natural Lip Tint and Shimmer swatches

A. Rose Tourmaline – This is the lightest shade in the entire line. It is a sparkling rosé champagne shimmer. The color is faintly darker than the shade Opal, which is on one end of every shade. Rose Tourmaline is a lovely combo for fair blondes or those wanting something very faintly tinted. This is also a good color for younger gals starting/wanting to wear makeup.

B. Garnet – Garnet is a sheer, cool strawberry red shimmer. This is a  pretty berry stained color for lips. It will look very natural on medium complexions.

C. Copper – This is an orange-ish copper shimmer. It is a wonderful warm shade that could work on natural redheads and strawberry blondes. Beware, these warm copper shades can make teeth look dull. Regardless, I love this one. I wear it with matte rust eyeshadow and it is a really polished look.

D. Red Jasper – Red Jasper is a pretty red shimmer that is less berry than Garnet and a tad darker and warmer. The color is sheer but red. It creates a very natural and “fresh” flush in my opinion. This is a very pretty color for brunettes.

E. Opal  Shimmer – This shade is with each color. Opal Shimmer is a very sheer silver shimmer. It layers nicely over lip colors, lightening any too bright or too dark lipstick by adding silver highlights. The color is pretty alone. It can also be used on the collar bones as a moisturizing highlighter.

The formula is smooth and moisturizing. It feels just like a lip balm. It has the sweet aroma/flavor of cocoa butter. I find it very comforting. Badger Lip Tint smells like a cocoa butter stick.

I have been so happy with Badger lip products. The colors are sheer. They are much more sheer than the Burt’s Bees Tints. However, Badger Lip Tints have more color than the Alba Lip Tints that I’ve tried. These colors are easy! They are sheer and fuss-less. Most of the colors look natural on most complexions.

Badger Natural Lip Tint & Shimmer retails for about $6.50 (you get 2 colors) and is available at many natural stores and drugstore.com.

    1. Me either, but I’m not complaining! I love the Lavender Sweet Orange as a balm and these are wonderful lip tints.

  1. I’m definitely digging the Rose Tourmaline color, and really like the Opal Shimmer. I think I would use it a lot. I was very let down by the Burt’s Bees lip tints, and have pretty much given up on all Burt’s Bees products. They just don’t suit my skin anymore.

    1. If you have dry skin, the Rose & Opal make great highlighters. These colors are so “healthy” looking, reminding me of glossy skinned model-ish summer looks. They all make me want to have bronzed skin.
I like the Burt’s Bees Lip Tints but they are very pigmented, more of a lipstick IMO.

  2. Thanks so much for this.
I had been trying to decide which of the colours to order from an online health store but hadn’t seen them on skin to see how they come out.
I’d like a fairly bright colour, would the ‘Red Jasper’ be best?
    How red is it?
Is it very red or more pink red?
I have medium brown hair and a slight olive skin, I’m not very fair skinned.
Thanks so much for this post.

    1. Hi Linda, I’m happy to help!

I would say that Red Jasper is the brightest and it is the more red. It doesn’t have the berry/pink of Garnet. Red Jasper isn’t an “Old Hollywood” red but it does provide a very natural and pretty “red stain”. From your description, I think you will be happiest with Red Jasper. In my opinion, it is the prettiest color for brunettes and the best shade for light medium to medium complexions.
