    Susan George

Here’s one of those “no makeup” 70′s makeup looks. These are a nice change for me. Not all vintage looks are red lipstick or heavy black eyeliner. Here’s what I did to get the look of 70′s sexpot, Susan George:

FACE: Susan’s face makeup is too matte for my tastes, but I’ll forgive it because her skin is flawless. Now I can’t say that for the rest of us; we know that matte foundations and looks are “aging” too. With my fingers, I applied Smashbox Photo Finish Primer. With my fingers, I applied Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation in Nude. With a flat brush, e.l.f. Studio Powder Brush, I buffed out this foundation. I need concealer under the eyes, so with a concealer brush, I applied MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NC25. With the same powder brush I used for buffing foundation, I applied Clarins Loose Powder in Translucent to set foundation and to make this look more matte. Susan’s cheeks are so sheer, verging on ghostly. With a fan brush, I applied a very small amount of a sheer blush, Alima Pure Satin Matte Blush in Mimosa, a super pale matte pink for a hint of color.

EYES: Brows are natural. I set my brows with NOIR Brow Gel in Clear. With a large shadow brush, I applied Clinique Stay Matte Eyeshadow in French Vanilla, a warm matte beige. With a small shadow brush, I applied Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Ciel du Soir, a truly matte medium slate. I curled lashes and applied two coats of Clinique Lash Doubling Mascara to top lashes. I ended up putting a coat on bottom lashes, but it looks like she isn’t wearing mascara on the bottom.

LIPS: Lips are nude. I exfoliated lips with LUSH Mint Julip Lip Scrub before doing this tutorial. I then applied Crazy Rumors Mocha Lip Balm. With a lip brush, I applied Wet n Wild Mega Last Lip Color in 901B Think Pink, a pale and matte pink.

And of course, I can’t complete any look without a fragrance. I’m going for Cacharel Anais Anais.

I hear that the weather here this weekend will be crummy. This may mean that I need to spend it indoors sniffing perfumes at Barney’s and Nordstrom ;) Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend!
