1970′s Fashion: Get the Makeup Look of Barbara Bouchet
I’m guessing that this is a 70′s look but it could easily be a late 60′s Casino Royale era look. Whatever the decade, I like this look. It’s a retro smoky eye that works for all complexions. Here’s what I did to get a Bond Girl-esque Miss Bouchet inspired look.
EYES: I’m starting with eyes first because they are heavy and so I won’t mess up my face makeup. With Estee Lauder Brow Perfecting Duo in Brunette, I filled in brows with the powder and set with the wax. I applied e.l.f. Eylid Primer and let it dry. For the shadow, I’m using Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in Greed. I love this palette. With a fluffy shadow brush, I applied the lightest matte shade to set a base. From lash line to crease, I applied the peachy nude matte shade with the same brush. I applied Wet n Wild Mega Eyes Creme Eyeliner in Black with a stiff angled liner brush. I use this to set a black base. I lined top and bottom lashes. I applied it very thickly to the outer top corners. With an angled shadow brush, I applied the matte black eyeshadow, applying more to the outer corners. In the crease, I blended the shimmery gray in the compact. I then had to apply more of the matte peach. Keep building and blending until you get the look you want. I didn’t apply false lashes for this look but probably should. I curled lashes and applied a few coats of Hourglass Film Noir Mascara in Onyx.
FACE: I applied Smashbox Photo Finish Light Foundation Primer (not pictured) first. I let this dry for about 60 seconds. With my Elizabeth Arden Foundation Brush, I applied Lancôme Absolue Makeup in Ecru 10. With a kabuki brush, I swirled on Everyday Minerals Luminizing Sunlight Powder to set powder but the finish keeps it from looking dull. With a blush brush, I applied NARS Blush in Orgasm, a sheer peachy pink with gold shimmer.
LIPS: Lips are sheer and peach. Directly from the tube, I applied Clinique Different Lipstick in Tenderheart, a warm brown. I am certain that every woman in America has this lipstick because it has been in every Clinique GWP for the past 15 years! With a lip brush, I applied MAC Tinted Lipglass in Florabundance, a pale peachy nude.
And now for a fragrance…Maybe it’s the rainy day, but I feel this look should be paired with Prada EDP, my go-to comfort fragrance.
